About Amanda

Amanda Pikala, MA, LMFT

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from both the University of Minnesota in Duluth with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Saint Mary’s in Minneapolis with a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. During grad school, I did in-home therapy. After grad school, I assisted in developing East Central Crisis Services (ECCS) through Canvas Health and I still work for ECCS an on call provider. Although I learned a lot about my experiences doing in-home therapy and while working for ECCS, my passionate is for providing outpatient therapy. I have a very high standard for myself and am always striving to be a better Therapist, Supervisor, and Mediator. When I am not working, I enjoy camping, skiing, training my pups, and biking.

Willow

Willow is an 11 year old golden retriever.  She is a Certified Therapy dog through Therapy Dog International. She spends most of her days sitting by my side as I do my work over Zoom.

Oakley

Oakley is a pure breed golden retriever that was born in February of 2020. My hope was that she would someday become Willow’s successor but she does resource guard so unfortunately she won’t be able to be a therapy dog. She is a fun and goofy family dog.
